Annemien Mattheus

Annemien received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pretoria where she also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Hearing Aid Acoustics. She is registered as a Hearing Aid Acoustician with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and she is a member of the Society of Hearing Aid Acousticians (SHAA). Annemien strives to provide each patient with individual hearing health care that fits their hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.  Supporting new hearing aid users through the initial adjustment period forms an essential part of her practice.

The purpose of a diagnostic hearing test  is to determine whether a patient has a hearing loss. Through a variety of assessments the type and level of hearing loss is diagnosed. The results will  dictate the type of treatment prescribed.

Through the development of digital technology, which  incorporates tiny computer chips, hearing aids has seen major advances in the last few years. Modern hearing aids are programmed according to an individual patient's hearing ability.
